Bookshops

From 21 October 2020, all bookshops are required to be closed - so all the following shops are closed. However some are running call-and-collect or or online ordering.



Aisling Family Bookshop in Lower Abbeygate St (Pro Cathedral building)

Re-opened on Saturday 27 June




Bell Book and Candle in The Small Crane

Re-opened by August 2020 (maybe earlier)




Bóthar Emmaus Bookshop in Dominick Street 

Opened in the week starting 8 June




Charlie Byrnes Bookshop - Middle Street

Reopened in the week-starting 9 june 2020.

They are taking orders through their website and by phone, and using An Post to deliver books. Postage costs $3.00






Dubray Books in Shop St

Opened on Thursday 11 June 



Easons in Shop St 

Reopened late in the week starting 8 June.   
Hours 9am - 5pm Monday to Saturday, and 12-noon to 4pm on Sunday. 







Kenny Bookshop  - Liosbaun Industrial Estate

From 7 April 2020, they are taking and dispatch orders through their website.  But there are some constraints on this service, inlcluding limited access to best-sellers.

Reopened on Monday 8 June. 

There will also be limited access to the art gallery, with a full schedule of exhibitions resuming in the Autumn. 

Opening hours for now:  
10:30am-4pm, Monday to Friday, with 10:30-11:30  allocated for the elderly and the vulnerable.

Right Price Ink - Dominick Street

The retail store opened again on 18 May.  Services include printing documents which are emailed to them in advance.



Previously, they had a sign up offering Galway home delivery and nationwide courier delivery for orders placed by phone to 091-563000 or online www.rightpriceink.ie

Chat-n-Net internet cafe in Eyre Street

During the closedown, this business offered a a copying and document printing / binding service.  Documents were mailed to chatand.net@gmail.com beforehand, and picked up between 2pm and 3pm, Monday to Friday. 

From the week starting 8 June, they are open on a regular basis, from 10am - 4pm, Monday to Saturday. 








Other places to get stationery

Supermarkets, Dealz, Eurogiant and some newsagents have stationery.  Some newsagents also have a range of novels and books of puzzles.
