Opened during 2012, and sadly closed again in January 2013, Dylans really stood out in Upper Abbeygate Street.
Initially it was just the dazzling white paint job and kitchy-cute brightly painted on-street furniture .
But inside there was some seriously nice cafe food (available to take-away from the downstairs area) and upstairs a nicely fitted out table service area, complete with books to read, and some brunch menu items that gave a few other Galway chefs something to think about.

The outside courtyard is very stylish, and it took a second visit - on a rainy day when the area was covered by a retractable roof - to realise that this is also the outdoor smoking area for the nightclub that's part of the same premises.
Here's hoping that we'll see it open again soon.
