Cake my Day

Update

As quietly as they arrived, Cake my Day slipped out of Galway city sometime in June 2023:   There were no signs in the doors or social media posts, just a distinct lack of cake in Eglinton Street, a forelorn-looking power-bill just inside the door, and a few weeks later a big To Let sign on the building.

Original listing

This Irish-owned bakery opened their first Galway-city store in Eglinton Street in the last week of August 2022.

They're based in a small unit which was a pharmacy for a long time, then the first home of Galway Wine Buff who've now moved two doors up the road.  This is in-between the NCBI charity shop, and the former Carbon nightclub which is probably becoming a Wetherspoons - and more usefully just down the street from the Post Office.

This is an innovative, artisan County-Mayo based family-owned bakery, who also have stores in Castlebar, Tuam and Sligo.   They're dedicated to providing delectable and memorable but still affordable, quality baked goods price, mades from the finest ingredients using traditional methods.

Their product range is based on cakes, desserts, cupcakes, scones, muffins and fresh breads.  Most items are iced / decorated:  think delicious treats in bright cheerful colours, not healthy wholemeal snacks.   Also despite initial suspicions, this is not a DIY cake decorating supplies store: the team at Cake my Day do all the hard work.

They also make cakes for special occasion cakes (birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, communions, baptisms etc) and think of each cake as a work of art, designed and decorated for your occasion.
