Poblacht Barbershop

After almost eighteen months in their original location, Galway's gender-neutral barbershop, Poblacht made the most confusing move ever, relocating from William St to William St West in early June 2025.

The new home is in the heart of the very chill #WestEnd, in the shop in between Silkes cash-and-carry and The Face hairdressers,  across the street from The Secret Garden - which was previously Aplomb Menswear.

It's had a tasteful refurb including some refreshing lime 💚 green trim inside and out, and a traditional red-and-white  barberpole installed outside.

The service is the same as ever, with the street-level access opening up to more people a the extra space letting the lads display some interesting hoodies and more.

Social and contact details unchanged.

Originally

This new Galway run, family-owned barbershop officially opened on Friday 19 January 2024.

Run by two locals, Cóilín and Evan, the shop replaced the Notorious barbers which opened in the same location during the Covid lockdown.

Located in Williams Street, just a few steps up from Shop Street, they're in a heritage building, located just above the Joke Shop - but they're very serious about lads hairs for fashion and wellbeing.  The entrance via a stairway between Or Jeweller and The Body Shop - and the barber-studio now has a striking grass-green interior, to add a cheery tone.

They offer all the service you'd expect from a barber - and being locally based means they offer haircuts for all, welcome walk-ins, speak some Irish and and are familiar with the ebb and flow of Galway city.
