Gort is booming: in a very short time it's gone from having only O'Grady's excellent carvery (lovely - but still a carvery in a pub), to the classic O'Connors, photogenic Kate's, and also this artistic paradise located in a converted townhouse on the north side of the triangular Market Square.
Combining artworks on the walls with food-artistry on every plate, the chefs are making great use of local produce. The home-made bread is almost a meal itself, And the coffee cups aren't huge, but the brew is lovely.
Gallery Cafe is a very popular spot these days - tables are at a premium, but the skillful staff are expert at making the best use of them - and indeed using every single inch of space they can find.Closed on Monday and Tuesday, and open from 11am other days.
