The Tasty Toasty trailer opened during the third week of May 2023.
For now, at least, they're in Market Street in the driveway the new Portershed innovation centre (in the former Connacht Tribune office) and Kozzy's barber shop. To start with, it's strictly a takeaway operation, although there is some public seating a little down the road near the main gate to St Nicholas church.
They're open Monday to Saturday, serving toasted sandwiches from 11am until they run out, and drinks + treats until 4:30pm.
The opening menu is simple:
- Drinks: coffee (espresso, americano, flat-white, latte, cappucino) tea, water or Coke Zero
- Toasted sandwiches (triple cheese, slow-roasted ham, Gubbeen chorizzo, and creamy buffalo chicken)
- Treats: chips and dip (salsa, buffalo or garlic), and a baked sweet treat, eg brownies
With a focus on freshness and quality, local suppliers include Calendar Coffee from Oughterard, Sheridan's Cheese and Moycullen Meats.
