Drift Coffee, Ballyloughane

This brand new Galway city cafe opened on 13 February 2026, with a tagline of "Beach please,  We've got coffee".

They're located in a stand-alone,  container-style unit, which is beside Liam Mellows GAA clubrooms in Ballyloughane, Renmore. (Eircode H91 K2T1).   Possibly this was purpose-built for Drift:  it really does look well done making great use of a small serving area, and having back-room space for the staff, too.

This is a takeaway setup:  there's no indoor seating.  But there are some outdoor seats which are fabulous on a sunny day, and some really cute roll-top seating units, which give great shelter from the wind.

The menu is based on coffee (Espresso, Americano, Latte, Flat-white, Cappuccino and Mocha) - with level-up options including alternative milks (oat, almond, soy, coconut) and syrups (vanilla, caramel, salted-caramel and hazelnut), and ice.  They've also got chai, matcha, hot chocolate - and Barry's Tea.  There are options for children (babyccino, little-drifters hot chocolates), and dogs (woofuccinos).   And a small selection of cakes, pastries, crisps, soft-drinks, water and jellies).  And a nice simple approach to soft serve Acai - all you need to choose are toppings and a sauce.

Days and hours

Initially Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 4pm.
With plans to extend the days soon.
