Himalayan Essence

This authentic Indian and Himalayan restaurant opened in mid May 2026

They're located in Unit 4 on the Tuam Road side of Liosbaun Industrial Estate, which was most-recently Oran Tandooir. This has been redecorated into a classic style, which included a well-stocked bar, comfortable chairs and flexible tables.

Promising "Contemporary Indian & Himalayan Cuisine - A Journey Through Royal Flavours & Mountain Heritage", the menu includes a nice range of familiar Indian dishes (butter, korma, tikka masala, jalfrezi, madras, vindaloo, saag, mango, bhuna, tandoori) and interesting surprises, including chicken wings, spare-ribs, pan-fried scallops, and six vegetarian dishes. There is also a Royal Raan feast (feeds 3-4, from a whole leg of lamb - 48 hours notice required!)
