This Galway city bar was opened February in 2008 by Tom McDonagh, a veteran of
the London pub scene who arrived with a passion for create a traditional pub
with loyal local customers, and dedicated staff - the very opposite of Galway's
growing super-pubs.
With stained glass in the front windows, oak floors, and a carefully build
traditional pub interior, this was quite a change for a building that was E Brun
Post Office unti 1991, and had been derelict for some time.
Despite
being a very small bar, they still had big-screen TVs to show racing, rugby, and
other sports, with soup and toasted sandwiches served during the day.
Like all pubs, E Brún closed when the COVID 19 pandemic broke out. Unfortunately they never opened again.
