Pick'nPay, Eyre Square Shopping Centre

Galway's favourite vape-shop opened a new branch in mid July 2025, this time right inside the Eyre Square Shopping Centre.

They're located upstairs,  along from Starbucks, in half of the space that A Look Fashions used to occupy.

Products are much the same as in the original store:  vapes, sweets, chrisps and soft-drinks/minerals - with perhaps a smaller range due to the smaller shop.

Opening hours

To be advised, but probably very similar to the shopping centre hours, which are mostly:
Mon - Wed, 8:30am to 7pm
Thurs- Fri 8:30am -8 pm
Sat:   8:30am to 7pm
Sun:  11am to 7pm

Mr M Vape, Bohermore

Bohermore's first vape-shop opened in mid-June 2025.

It's a smaller version of the original store in Lower Abbeygate Street, which opened in 2017.   The new shop is located in the small local shop which was previously home to Elite Hairdressers, at the city end of Bohermore, in between Lohan's Pharmacy and Buddie's Barber Club.

the building has been given a freshen up, on the outside at least:  This features their trademark vibrant pink and blue, with the walls in a darker shade.

Products - much the same as the main store, but obvious there's less space here

Days and hours TBA

Candy Cloud

This new member of Galway's vape-shop community opened in the first week of June 2025.

They're located in an older building in Lower Abbeygate Street, immediately opposite Alex Fone Fix and in-between Venice restaurant and Regis Fashions.  This was previously home to a branch of iPear phone shop, which closed in early May.  The ground floor has been fully refitted, and kitted out with the shelving and patterned LED-lighting which has become synonymous with vaping outlets.

Products are the predictable range of vapes, sweets and soft-drinks.

Days and hours are to be advised.

Open for business on 4 June

Local Express, St Augustine Street

Update

As unauspiciousally as they arrived, Local Expess closed the doors, packed up their stock, pulled down the shutters and removed the shopfitting on 10 July 2025, just short of two months after opening.

Originally

This small "convenience store", aka vape shop opened without any fanfare, or a spell-check, on 19 May 2025.

It's in St Augustine Street, in Rockfort House, next door to Image hair salon, with the Augustinian prior on the other side, and across the road from the Galway City Library.  This was previously home to Dr Zhou Acupuncture, who quietly departed form the area earlier in the year.  The interior has had a thorough re-fit, and now looks similar to the Corner Express in Woodquay

Products are "all the sweetest things" - mainly American-style sweets, no newspapers or (visible) vapes.

Days / hours to be advised.

No socials

Plumes

This innovative, high-quality smoking supplies and accessories shop -  more upmarked than the usual vape-shop, opened in mid-October 2024.

They're located in Upper Abbeygate Street, next-door to Salsa, near AWOL Tattoos and across the road from Donuts and Dungeons.   The shop was most recently the Wee Phone Repair shop - which only occasionally opened after the Covid-closedown.    Since then, the whole place has been re-fitted and brightened up considerable.  When they first opened, the entire side of the street was covered in scaffolding, but this disappeared once the roof was fixed, giving a nicer view of the tasteful olive exterior.

Described by an acute internet observer as "the giftshop for the stoner in your life", Plumes is pretty much the exact opposite of every vape-shop you've ever seen, with friendly lighting, a welcoming atmosphere, and cheerful yellow shelves.  They've even got a vintage arcade game machine in one corner, to add atmosphere.  Plumes' aim is to elevate Ireland’s smoking experience with a premium twist, by offering  carefully curated range of high-quality merchandise.

Initial products include top-quality smoking favourites, including ashtrays, glass and silicone bongs, fire-holder, grinders, incense sticks, lighters, odour masking mouthwash and more, pipes, rolling papers and trays, weighing equipment.  Brands they're stocking include Barney's Farm, Blazy Susan, Boost, Buddies, Cyclones, ELEMENTS, G-Rollz, Hammercraft x RAW, Juicy Jay's, OCB and RAW.   As well as the shop, they're offering an on-line stop and promising speedy delivery and discreet packaging.   and over time, and they plan to introduce locally-crafted goods, exclusive international brands, and unique offerings to which make  Plumes a smoke shop like no other.

ECig, Galway Shopping Centre

The newest branch of eCig Shop smoking-supplies shops opened in Galway Shopping Centre in mid October 2024.

They're located in the northern side of the shopping-centre, in the unit that was previously Forever Me Cosmetics - in between the recently-refurbished Eir phonestore, and DX shoes.

Products are the same as in all eCig branches, centreing around electronic "cigarettes", vapes, e-liquids (nicotine), HHC edibles, nicotine pouches, and vape accessories.  Decor is much the same, too

Pick'N'Pay

This new vape shop and 21st century convenience store opened on Friday 26 July 2024.

They're in the east side of Eyre Square,  in between Fibber McGees and Re-max real estate - in a unit that's been empty for good few years, but was previously a Sherry Fitzgerald real-estate office.

Products include vapes, soft-drinks / minerals, American candies, packaged crisps/chips - no sign of a deli, or 20th century goods like cigarettes or newspapers!

Days and hours are to be announced, but it's likely to be open 7 days a week, and open well into the evening /night.

No social media (yet) - but the fridges only arrived on opening day, so they're still busy setting up the store.

Address:   4 Eyre Square

Corner Express

This 21st century corner store (ie a vape shop) opened in late December 2023.

It's located in Corner House in Woodquay, at the very bottom of Eyre Street - opposite McSwiggans and just around the corner from Bridie Murphy's second cafe, in the premises that used to be Hughes Opticians (before Hughes merged with Kelly Optical in Middle Street earlier in the year).

Products are pretty much what it states on the signs, coffee (maybe not so much of this), candies (sweets), fizzy drinks (ie minerals), vapes and phones (actually phone fixing and accessories - this section is quite small).  No newspapers, bread or milk!

Days and hours are to-be-advised, and they have no social media pages so far.

Address:     37 Woodquay, Galway, H91 FW10
