New Year's Day is a public holiday in Ireland.
Many places in Galway choose not to open on New Year's Day - and when it is on the weeekend, they may choose to not open the following day either,
But some shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs do open.
This list is a work-in-progress, and will be live-updated as the day progresses.
